HISTORY OF THE
ACTUP MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARY
The collective of
ACT UP San Francisco first began dispensing medical marijuana in March
1998 on Castro Street in San Francisco, in the midst of the state shutting
down six local medical marijuana dispensaries.
The dispensary opened
its doors in response to a community need for quality, affordable medical
marijuana in a safe environment.
We moved to our
current location at 1884 Market Street in September 1998 and have strived
to continue to provide affordable medical marijuana to our clients.
